Introduction
Excellence is not first a human ambition; it is a nature God places in each of His children. To be the head is to walk in the light of your mission, to carry an excellent spirit, and to let wisdom from above guide every area of your life. Notice the condition in the verse: this place is received through obedience. God does not lift up the proud, but He honors those who stand out through faithfulness, purity, and a disciplined heart.

The heart of the prayer
Prayer
Lord, thank You for calling me to be the head and not the tail. I do not seek first place for my own glory, but so that Your name may be honored through my life. Give me an obedient heart, a spirit of excellence, and the wisdom that comes from above. Keep me from pride as well as from fear. Open the doors You have prepared before me, and make me faithful in little things as in great ones. May my work, my words, and my decisions reflect Your light. In Jesus’ name, amen.
