A Word from the Author · Martial Kpochan

There are things I know without knowing why I know them.

I did not go looking for them. They come: sometimes a sentence when I wake up, a quiet certainty in the middle of a peaceful night, a verse that presses in and will not let me go. Other times, they ripen through a book, an encounter, an experience, or a word that, over time, takes on a new meaning.

I do not always know where this assurance comes from. I only know that it is there, and that it does not mislead.

For a long time, I kept these words to myself. I spoke them out loud, wrote them down, read them again in seasons of trial. They did not always change my circumstances overnight; they changed me, and the way I walked through them.

Then I understood something: what I know without knowing why, I believe I know for someone else. These prayers do not belong to me. They have a road to travel, and that road runs through you, holding this book today.

I do not claim to understand everything I receive. But I have cared for every word: each prayer has been reread, tested, and anchored in Scripture.

Now they are in your hands. Say them out loud. If they have found their way to you, it is no accident.
