Prayer no. 7 · Theme B

I Am Carried by the God Who Delivers Me

A prayer to see God act without delay

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee…

Deuteronomy 33:27 (KJV)

Introduction

You are in the arms of God, and no one can snatch you out of His hand. At the end of his life, Moses reminded Israel that the eternal God is a refuge and that underneath are the everlasting arms. When the pressures of life seem to chase you, you do not need to run: you can stand firm in peace. The One who brought His people out of Egypt is leading you toward your promised land. No oppression, no accusation, no fear will have the last word.

The heart of the prayer

Prayer

Eternal God, I praise You, for You are my refuge and Your everlasting arms carry me. Thank You for going before me and fighting for me. You who parted the Red Sea before Your people are opening a way before me too. Through the blood of Jesus, I receive Your deliverance, Your freedom, and Your peace. Let every voice of accusation fall silent before Your truth. I rest in calm and confidence while You work. Lead me all the way into my promised land, and I will tell of Your wonders. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Key Line
