Prayer no. 2 · Theme A

I Am Clothed in Divine Glory

A prayer to reclaim my worth and dignity

And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

Isaiah 62:2 (KJV)

Introduction

The glory of God is never lost for the one who believes. Even when darkness seems to have veiled your radiance, Christ comes to restore your light. Through the prophet Isaiah, the Lord promises a new name to those He lifts up: the nations will see their righteousness, and kings their glory. The One who remembers your name covers you with His presence and calls you to shine again, not to put yourself forward, but so that His beauty may be seen through you.

The heart of the prayer

Prayer

Lord, I praise You, for Your light has risen over my life and Your glory rests upon me. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that washes me and makes me clean in Your sight. Thank You for the new name Your mouth has spoken over me: I receive it with joy and carry it with dignity. Clothe me each day with Your glory and Your grace. Let Your light shine on my home and my work, so that others may see in me a reflection of Your goodness and come to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
